There is a line where the dark fuses with the light, the surreal with the sublime, the graceful with the powerful; it is within this line that Tara Brooks has carved out her truly distinct sound. Whether playing at an intimate club, a dark underground warehouse, a packed festival or a magical sunrise deep in the Burning Man Playa, Tara’s music envelopes the crowd, stirring them with deep funky grooves, hypnotic & trippy rhythms, acidy deep techno, soulful, and haunting melodies. Behind the decks, her passion and love for music is contagious.

Struck by the power of the music and the loving vibe of the scene, Tara was destined to be a part of it. Learning on vinyl, Tara picked up her first record in 2007 and hasn’t looked back since.

When she’s not touring, you can find Tara locked in the studio. Rather then focusing on genre or style, Tara is sonically inspired by personal experience and connection with her environment. Always striving to translate a specific feeling or moment, Tara creates a sound that is all her own: Compelling, sophisticated, haunting and healing, piercing your heart and invigorating your soul.

Having become one of the new breed of innovative DJ’s has been a steady ascent from the Underground to performing at some of the most respected parties. Tara has been on the bill for such renowned events such as The BPM Festival, The Cityfox Experience-NYC and LA, Stereo-Montreal, Rakastella- Miami, Desert Hearts, Coachella, SXM, Lightning in a BoVle, Public Works-SF, Sound-LA, Space-Miami, Ultra Music Festival, WMC, Flash-DC, Kater Blau- Berlin, Sisyphos-Berlin, Watergate-Berlin, OK Cool-Detroit, Rainbow Serpant Festival-Melbourne, Return to Rio-Sydney, Output-NYC, Wynwood Factory ,Electric Pickle, & Do Not Sit on the Furniture-Miami, and is a resident for Desert Hearts.

Tara has a rich tapestry to her sets, and they cover so many different moods and soundscapes, her sets are an emotional expression of a modern and futuristic fusing of genres. She has a range and love for various genres that takes the listener on a storied journey that goes outside the box by connecting to the audience in a very personal and emotive way. Her style is a true mirror of Tara as a person, emotional, sensitive and full of fire.
